Karen's graphic: Stereoviews: the Falls in Depth.

A woman stands in the melting snow, looking across the gorge.

This is one of my favourites, though I am not sure why.

A closer shot. The Falls are flowing, but there's lots of ice and snow on the ground.

It's desolate and lonely, yet hopeful, in that early spring way.

A detail of the woman. She's wearing long skirts and a short jacket and hat, and has her hands in a muff.

Why don't we have muffs any more?

Far up on the top of the cliff, on the south side, a man is looking down at the woman and at the photographer.

My dear friend Susan told me that when I started examining these pictures in detail, I'd start seeing elves in them. I don't know if this guy qualifies or not.

A bench is at the side of the image. It looks like a half-tree trun k, mounted on short legs.

We'll be seeing this bench again.

A piece of board is supported out of the snow bank.

I suppose this is a stair railing, but I really don't know.

The number "128" was written on one of the images. Probably by the photographer.

Many stereoviews have a number drawn onto one side or the other, perhaps as a sort of copyright mark. This is on the lefthand image.
