Karen's graphic: Stereoviews: The Falls in Depth

Another snowed-in Falls picture. There are houses or other buildings barely visible through the trees across a field on the north.

Shot from a slightly higher vantage point than the previous several images. The text on the mount reads: "Lovejoy & Foster", and "Chicago, Ills." and "Minnehaha Falls, Minn. Winter of 1873." Even though that date is printed on the card, you simply cannot trust it.

Close up of words printed on the stereoview cardboard mount. "Minnehaha Falls, Minn. Winter of 1873."

But it could indeed be 1873.

Close-up. The Falls is flowing under the ice that has grown up over it.

Look across the prairie, where that strip mall is today.

Nothing but snow and a few bushes on the northside cliff by the Falls.

No fence, but...

A closer shot of the house or houses. There are at least 2 and maybe several more buildings here.

At least one house! And probably some farm buildings.
