The rowdy, raucous history of Minnehaha, told for the first time

My new book is available from MNHS Press and your favorite booksellers.

Upcoming Events

I will be guiding the "Raucous Ramble" at Minnehaha Falls several times in 2023, beginning on June 7 at 6 PM and on June 10 at 1 pm. This tour covers the lost history of the area that we know as Minnehaha Park, during a time when rowdy dancehalls, brothels, illegal saloons and other iniquitous behavior carried on.

Check here, or https://hennepinhistory.org/ for more info and to get tickets. We will add some dates and times.

I'm presenting at the Mendota After Hours event on June 6, 2023 at 6 PM. This is in the Dupuis House, which is the red brick building on the corner of Sibley Memorial HWY and D Street across the street from Lucky’s Bar at the Mendota historical site.   I'll be talking about my new book "When Minnehaha Flowed with whiskey: a Spirited History of the Falls."

I have several video presentations and walking tours of Minnehaha.  Contact me to organize something for your group.
